             Fruitdale Farm is a small family farm in Wheat Ridge with a focus on flowers. Check them out later this summer for a fun activity of building your own locally grown bouquet! You might also be able to pick up some seasonal eggs, fruit and herbs. Season usually runs July to October. Dates and further information can be gathered from their  website:

      10 am to 2 pm

at the Baugh House 11361 W. 44th Ave April & June

 

 

 

Earth Day ~ April 13 Learn about the Leave No Trace program. Our hostesses for this event Kassandra and Barbara owner/workers of Fruitdale farms and board members of the Society will provide our snacks and will give a talk on the Fruitdale Sustainability Program . Bring kids clothing for donation (reduce) Kids can make a sock puppet (reuse) Don't forget to bring your extra seedlings for a plant exchange with other gardeners(share).

May Festival ~ May 11 at the WR Historical Park (4610 Robb St.)  May Pole Dances at 11 am & 1 pm. Learn about the history of the May basket and day.  Enjoy music by the Golden Strings Bluegrass band, as well as the Model T Club, craft demonstrations, animals, games and a local food truck.

    

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bikes, BBQ & Bingo ~ June 8th  Join in the fun at the Baugh House for the best bicycle costume parade, followed by a ride on the Greenbelt. Learn about our local bike shops. Buy BBQ.   Play some bingo and win prizes.

Spring Equinox ~Our March 9th Spring Equinox event was attended by local gardeners and our wonderful members. YY  the ambassador for the Happiness Gardens gave us a great deal of information about the resources available to residents. You can learn more in the

W. R. Recreation center guide about the classes offered.  Our Hostess Idella Lewis brought a lovely "green" St. Patrick's type  luncheon for our guests.  Linda Grantham won a lovely plant from our sponsor Southwest Gardens with her fictional tale of found treasure. 

 

 

 

 

 

We will be collecting Gently used clothing for the group Serving Kids  at our April event with our partners at Sustainable Fruitdale. We are looking for kids clothing from babies to teenagers. All clothing benefits local families!!!   For more information  go to
