The Baugh House

On the corner of 44th and Robb St. is the James H. Baugh Homestead. Within the turn-of the century farmhouse is a one-and-a-half story log cabin built in 1859. It was restored with the help of funds from the Colorado State Historical Fund, Jefferson County Open Space, the Wheat Ridge Historical Society and the City of Wheat Ridge.

The Baugh House interprets one of the earliest surviving examples of an agricultural foothold in the Front Range region. It is an island of history surrounded by rapidly spreading urban sprawl. Today only these 6 acres of Baugh’s original 160 acre parcel remain undeveloped.
